Six World-Class Keynotes
5th Annual Proteins Congress to Feature Six World-Class Keynote and Stream Keynote Addresses
Oxford Global conferences are proud to announce that the 5th Annual Proteins Congress will feature six keynote and stream keynote addresses from leading academics and industry experts.
The first address will be given by Sigurd Okkels, VP and Head of Technical Development at Nycomed, who will offer delegates an overview of the CMC challenges faced by the Biologics industry, and outline the necessary steps towards achieving a successful CMC strategy.
Day 1’s presentations will be kicked off by Rene Hoet, VP, Global Biologics at Bayer Schering Pharma and Naomi Chayen, Professor of Biomolecular Medicine at Imperial College. Rene will speak about utilising display and transgenic technologies for successful antibody discovery and optimization, while Naomi will be discussing the use of smart materials for protein crystallisation.
On Day 2, we are pleased to welcome back one of our most popular speakers from 2010, Arne Skerra, Professor at TU Munich and the CEO & Founder of Pieris. As a member of the advisory board, Arne has played an active role in helping to shape the congress agenda. At the event itself, he will open the Biotherapeutics stream with a presentation discussing strategies for successful half-life extension. Following Arne, Robert Hayes, VP at Johnson & Johnson will present on centyrin alternative scaffolds – the organisation’s new biotherapeutic platform.
One of the areas causing increasing concern in the proteins industry is, of course, immunogenicity. A new addition to the Proteins Congress this year is our inaugural Aggregation and Immunogenicity stream. We are delighted to announce that Joel Richard, VP, Drug Product Development, Pharmaceutical Development at Ipsen will launch the new stream with a discussion of how best to mitigate potential immunogenicity issues.
The 5th Annual Proteins Congress will take place on 2rd and 3rd April, 2012 in London. For a full list of speakers or to download the agenda, please visit www.proteins-congress.com
